Vienna, Austria

While visiting Austria, I had a ton of fun exploring the sites and attractions that Vienna is known for. We spent a total of three nights in Vienna and each day we did so many fun things! We ended up arriving around seven at night in Vienna and we ended up just relaxing as we knew we had a big day ahead!

On the first full day in Vienna we met up with one of my dad’s friends and we visited the Naschmarkt which has been around since 1774. The Naschmarkt is a bunch of tiny restaurants and market stalls that sell different goods along one long street in the middle of Vienna. While exploring the Naschmarkt I got hungry so we sat down at this Pho place and I had Pho for the first time! It was so good and we ended up coming back another time for dinner! After we said goodbye to my dad’s friend we went to Café Sacher Wien. The inside was so pretty and was like nothing I've ever seen before. Everything was red and gold with huge chandeliers hanging from the ceiling! While there we of course had to get a piece of the famous Sacher-torte which Café Sacher Wien is famous for! It’s so famous that we even had to make reservations to even get into this place! The cake though…It was delicious. I normally try to avoid gluten as it upsets my stomach, but I decided to try the cake anyway and boy was it worth it! The cake was absolutely phenomenal.

That evening we went to the Vienna Opera House and watched a ballet. Sadly, when I went there was no availability for an opera, but there was a ballet performance and it was truly an amazing experience. It was very long and I thought the intermission was off as there were only about thirty minutes left after the break out of a very long show, but the performance itself was out of this world. It was so fascinating the way all of the ballerinas moved. They were so graceful and I was starstruck. It even made me wanna become a ballerina!

The following day we were supposed to leave Vienna, but my dad got sick so we ended up staying another night and going to the Prater amusement park which is the oldest amusement park in the world! We rode the giant ferris wheel which is one of Austria’s symbols and the oldest ferris wheel in the world. The entire amusement park was built in 1897 and has been in operation since. At Prater they also had a Madame Tussauds which is a huge wax museum with a bunch of different celebrities made out of wax! I even go to take a selfie with Taylor Swift and Elvis Presley! I also ended up with this beautiful necklace which was from the Sisi area of Madame Tussauds. There was a whole section of the museum dedicated to Sisi, which was a nickname for Empress Elizabeth of Austria, and at the gift shop at the end there was this stunning necklace that I decided to purchase! I have so many fond memories of Vienna and it was definitely such a beautiful place to visit!
